Would you buy a Borealis GMT with a Hangzhou (ETA2836clone) movement?

I think there is enough interest in a Borealis GMT watch to keep talking about this. Perhaps not a standalone Borealis model, but a GMT variant of some future Borealis watch. You have three options for an automatic GMT movement, unless Soprod and Selitta have something I haven't seen. 1. ETA...

    Request....GMT watches please!!!

actually, I'm going to step back from recommending the 2893 and offer the Hangzhou 6460. These movements are cheap, available, and by all accounts indistinguishable from a modified ETA 2836 unless you really, really know what to look for. http://www.hzwatch.com.cn/product_dat.php?id=26 I've...

    Request....GMT watches please!!!

44mm, ETA 2893, no overt homage to someone else's watch, and I'm in

Just a proposal, how about a Fifty Fathoms homage?

but take that with a grain of salt because it was only a week or two ago that I started a thread recommending an homage. I started buying watches in April. My tastes have been establishing themselves and will continue to do so. Newbie opinions here.

Just a proposal, how about a Fifty Fathoms homage?

It sounds like a strong word when you say it. I understand that homage watches appeal to a large group of customers. I understand that an original watch is a lot more risky. Look at Hollywood and the proliferation of sequels and remakes. I understand going with the Sure Thing. I like Borealis...

Just a proposal, how about a Fifty Fathoms homage?

I'd much rather see good original designs. I think grail watches deserve to be saved for if they're truly grail watches. I also think a good quality rep would be preferable to an homage if you have to have that watch and aren't willing to bleed for it. To me a quality rep is less lame than an...

Pre-Order Borealis Seafarer II 4000m Automatic Diver Watch

I've worn mine the last two days. I like it even better now than the day I opened it. This is a very nicely thought out wristwatch.

Elements I'd like to see in future Borealis projects

I once suggested a SuperOcean homage, but I'm retracting that. The world has more than enough homage watches. In fact at this point being too much of an homage is a deal breaker for me, despite how appealing I may find the watch. The Seafarer II is a great watch on its own merits, and I think...

Pre-Order Borealis Seafarer II 4000m Automatic Diver Watch

nice lume also. Not flame thrower bright like a good C3 but the watch looks much nicer in the light with the BGW9.

Pre-Order Borealis Seafarer II 4000m Automatic Diver Watch

cross posted from WUS: got my blue today and sized it, then removed the screws and loctite'd them. Only had trouble with one screw, the rest were nice and smooth, unlike my recent nightmare sizing my Pantor. It was a relief after that last one, and this watch has already won big points with me...

Would love to see a future Borealis inspired by this:

Maybe too close to the Estoril project. I just love this watch and I'll never own one because of the price tag.
