Submerged 1000 meters below the waves for more than 50 years the Caribbean 1000’s spirt has finally ascended from the depths and into its new host, the OW C-1000!

Following on from the reawakening of the famous Swiss brand, Ollech & Waj, EARLIER this year that saw the release of two models;

the P-104 and P-101 –not divers but nevertheless fantastic 300m water-resistant watches, what we have here, today is the watch that was conspicuously absent from O&W’s launch lineup,

the spiritual successor if you will of the Ollech & Wajs Caribbean 1000, a legendary diver which came about from a collaboration with O&W and the Doxa owned Jenny brand back in 1964.

This is the new OW C-1000, a true old school Swiss diver’s watch from an old school Swiss brand; it has been assembled in the Swiss Jura region.

More than 90% of its components are of Swiss origin, too!

The OW C-1000 has a 39.56mm in diameter, 1000m water-resistant, brushed 316L Stainless-steel case that has been stamped, machined, and finished in Jura, Switzerland.

It is equipped with a reinforced case-back and a special triple-gasket screw-down crown, and (contrary to the rumors) it has an extra strong domed Sapphire crystal.

The watch is fitted with a Stainless steel rotating bezel with a ceramic insert with a Swiss Super-LumiNova dive-time scale.

SLN has also been used for the indexes and hands for extra readability when diving in the depths.

Power comes by way of a modified ETA 2824-2 OW5, which is equipped with an Ollech & Wajs Zurich 1956 engraved main plate and OW machined rotor.

The OW C-1000 comes on a 20mm RAF nylon strap, which was made in Great Britain.

Swiss MSRP is 1,456CHF. Estimated delivery time: about five weeks from ordering date.

Thoughts? This is actually a lot better looking imho than the historic Caribbean 1000. I think because it has even more of a tool-watch aesthetic.

I absolutely love the oversized hands and markers. It sits perfectly alongside the P-104; what a cool watch; what a cool pair - would love to own both. What do you think?
