I think there is enough interest in a Borealis GMT watch to keep talking about this. Perhaps not a standalone Borealis model, but a GMT variant of some future Borealis watch.

You have three options for an automatic GMT movement, unless Soprod and Selitta have something I haven't seen.

1. ETA 2893
This is the only GMT movement ETA produces, based on the 2892. Availability and price are both issues here. This movement also has some syncing issues with the GMT hand.

2. ETA 2836
This is the day-date version of the 2824. The GMT is accomplished by conversion of the day to GMT function. This is an aftermarket modification, ETA does not ship any 2836s that are GMT-ready. Availability and price are both issues here, and a third major issue is that somebody needs to modify these for GMT, adding cost to an already premium movement.

3. Hangzhou 6460
This is Hangzhou's clone of the ETA 2836, shipping with GMT modification already made. Cheap and available, and by all accounts so close to a genuine 2836 that you have to really, really know your stuff to spot this as a movement that wasn't produced by ETA. Low cost, available, and by all accounts, high quality.

I started this thread to see if like me, you would be willing to buy a Hangzhou powered Borealis. Those of you who are interested in a Borealis GMT diver, please consider the above and cast your vote.
